Lee County Library announces summer schedule

Lee County Library’s 2026 Summer Reading Program will kick off this year with a special performance from magician and illusionist extraordinaire Dana Hill.

The event will take place at the Main Library located at 1740 Bragg Street on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 2-3 p.m. Designed for all ages, Dana’s Dino-Mite interactive Illusion Show theme is MAGIC, BOOKS, and DINOSAURS!, which will explore the dynamic world of dinosaurs, uncover the mysteries of archaeology, and leave you stunned with jaw-dropping magic tricks.

“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone into our newly renovated space as we launch the 2026 Summer Reading Program,” said Beth List, Director of Library Services for Lee County Government. “Our program has always celebrated curiosity and community, and starting this year’s adventure with Dana Hill’s dynamic show makes it even more special.”

The 2026 Collaborative Summer Library Program theme is “Unearth a Story.” Libraries across the country will come together to make summer programming meaningful and accessible to all library patrons. Participants can log their reading minutes to either earn small prizes throughout the summer or receive raffle entries for larger prizes at the end of the program. Many raffle prizes are generously donated by local businesses, community organizations, and the Friends of Lee County Libraries.

Patrons may register for the 2026 Summer Reading Program using the library’s new reading platform, Beanstack, sponsored by the Friends of the Lee County Libraries. Register in person during your visit or online at https://leecountync.beanstack.com/reader365.

Lee County Libraries has also added a variety of weekly and monthly programs to keep all ages engaged throughout the summer, including LCL Lego Days, Movies & Munchies, Adult Movie Classics, Drop‑in DIY Kids’ Crafts, Anime Club, book clubs, history programs, Family Movie Nights, and of course, Story Times.
