Supreme Court Louisiana v. Callais ruling sparks gerrymandering debate
May 3, 2026

For nearly thirty years, Bobby “BC” Collins has returned to his Moore County roots doing something that he loves, exposing local youth to the game that has changed his life, basketball.
A 1984 graduate of Pinecrest High School, Collins was a standout power forward which later afforded him an athletic scholarship at Eastern Kentucky University. After a professional stint overseas, he continued his hoops journey by entering the coaching realm with stops at both Division I and II universities. He currently serves as the head coach at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Each July, Collins makes the trip back home for his annual basketball camp. Open to youth from ages five and up, the two- day event focuses on both skill enhancement and character development.
This year’s camp is slated for July 10-11 at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst. The cost is $50 per camper, which includes lunch on both days, a t-shirt and multiple prize giveaways.
