The Lee County Board of Commissioners, in regular session on July 21, 2025, took action on  the following matters:

– Sanford Treatment Center Contract

– Appointment of Chairman Kirk Smith as the voting delegate for the NCACC Annual  Conference Voting Delegate Appointment

PUBLIC HEARING 

– Heard a public hearing on the Recommendation by the Lee County Transportation  Committee (LCTC) on the Ranking of the Lee County Transportation Projects to Submit  to the Central Pines Planning Organization’s (CPRPO) Rural Transportation  Coordinating Committee (RTCC). Those who spoke at the public hearing include: • David Smoak, 96 Northridge Trail (in favor) 

– Voted to waive the Board’s policy to vote on a public hearing item on the same day it  was heard. 

– Approved the Recommendation by the Lee County Transportation Committee (LCTC)  on the Ranking of the Lee County Transportation Projects to Submit to the Central  Pines Planning Organization’s (CPRPO) Rural Transportation Coordinating Committee  (RTCC). 

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Pursuant to N.C. General Statute 153A-52.1, the floor was opened for  Public Comments. 

– No Public Comments were received. 

OLD BUSINESS 

– Gave permission for Lee County Libraries to allow vendor to sell bottled/sealed mead at  2025 Annual POP!-con event. 

– Approved the Historic Courthouse Repair Change Proposal. 

NEW BUSINESS 

– Approved the Lee County Food Truck Policy. 

– Overturned the decision of the Juvenile Prevention Council (JCPC) on its FY 2025-26  Annual Plan and Certification and asked the council to revisit the funding decision to  consider funding all three programs on a one-year cycle.
