Sanford reviews growth strategy as 30,000 new residents loom, services lag behind

Well Centered Wellness in Sanford celebrated its ribbon cutting with Derrick Bieller, PA-C, his family, staff, town officials and the founder on Feb. 6.
Bieller believes in treating the whole person to heal at the cellular level. He said he did not believe God made people with an immune system that would turn on itself. He explained how people put things: food, supplements and medicines into their bodies that create what are called autoimmune disorders. Bieller said the center works to find out the origin of the imbalance because they treat patients holistically.
The website lists an array of holistic healthcare services.
“We have the only outpatient service with Duke with a Spravato clinic,” Bieller said about depression treatment.

The founder, Dr. Allison Puja Peters, said she trained Bieller, who entered the business after his 20-year military career. Allison Peters, who suffered an accident that left her partially paralyzed, offers education on brain Inflammation, neurofeedback, autoimmune disease, thyroid dysfunction, frequency healing, cellular detoxification, heavy metal toxicity, Lyme Disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, weight-loss resistance and hormone dis-regulation in both men and women.
Chiropractor, Dr. Craig French, was a chiropractic patient as a youngster and knew he wanted to be a chiropractor since he was 13.
Two wellness advocates, Kelly Smerdon, a life coach, and Julie Howard, a reflexologist, offer services for whole-patient healing.
Well Centered Wellness accepts 22 insurance companies specifically for medication management for psychiatric and primary care.
Patient Annette Mertz said a 2023 car accident left her paralyzed on the left side, with vision and hearing loss and cognitive challenges. She said under Dr. Allison Peter’s care, the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, laser therapy, red light therapy and vibration helped her walk again, but she still does not have a lot of feeling or control over her left leg.

“I attend online meetings with TBINC. It’s a group for survivors on Thursdays at three on Zoom,” Mertz said about the statewide traumatic brain injury support group.
Jessica Register said her husband and herself are longtime patients of Dr. Allison Peters and she relieved her husband’s nonstop cough immediately.
“He was sick with a virus for five nights and no sleep and she gave him something in the office,” Jessica Register said about her husband taking augmented NAC.

John Peters explained the supportive therapy, augmented NAC, as a bioavailable cysteine that works with the body naturally.
These examples serve to demonstrate how Well Centered Wellness promotes natural, whole-body healing as God intended.
