This position stems from a recent merger by the City of Sanford that will significantly expand our reach and influence in the industry. This position is a floater position requiring the CSR to work in our City of Sanford, Pittsboro AND Siler City locations. The CSR will work in our City of Sanford, Pittsboro and Siler City locations assisting customers to perform the following duties: Collecting, processing, and receiving utility payments and other revenue payments; maintaining cash drawer according to policy; entering data; assisting the public.Answers telephone; receives and responds to customer inquiries or complaints regarding utility bills and other collectibles in person or via telephone and mail; resolves them within the framework of established policies, procedures, laws and ordinances.Receives processes and posts utility payments and other revenues, and issues receipts.Balances daily personal drawer and processes bank deposit.Prepares, updates and maintains bank draft information; generates bank draft files and submits to bank; verifies totals for accuracy; posts draft payments.Notifies Public Works field personnel for reconnection services upon receipt of payment; changes utility account information as requested/needed in computer.Calculates and processes utility billing adjustments. Assists with the preparation of collection documents.Processes new accounts; accepts deposits; explains policies and procedures.Prepares and maintains records and files.Performs related tasks as required.
