Sanford seeks food trucks for parks and rec

Lee County Government is now accepting applications from mobile food vendors interested in operating at designated County parks and facilities. 

This opportunity follows the recent adoption of a Countywide Food Truck Policy by the Lee County Board of Commissioners, aimed at supporting local food entrepreneurs and enhancing services at public spaces.

Approved vendors will be able to reserve specific locations and dates through an online portal. Reservations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Currently, only Lee County parks have been identified as designated sites. As part of this process, Lee County Parks and Recreation will provide participating vendors with seasonal calendars that include programming schedules and facility rental details. This information will help food truck operators select dates and locations that align with high-traffic events and activities.

To participate, food truck operators must provide the following documentation:

• Valid North Carolina Environmental Health inspection
• Current permit from the Lee County or City of Sanford Planning Department
• Proof of general liability and workers’ compensation insurance
