Julia Golden shared reflections about her recent experience on “The Voice” in an interview on Feb. 25. The North Carolina native sings regularly in Moore County and across the state, winning fans and hearts, and her wings are spreading. After performing in the first round of competition Feb. 23 on “The Voice” during Blind Auditions and winning two chair turnarounds, Golden chose Team Kelly Clarkson.
“Her endorsement almost worked,” Golden said about Reba McIntyre, who Clarkson Facetimed during the chaos on stage. She said she’d never forget it.
After “The Voice,” only two days ago, she has more bookings across the nation in negotiations.
When asked about the singer-songwriter’s newest releases, and songs in process, Golden said she was “still reveling from the show and was directing her new fans to her old music until the dust settles so they can learn more about her style.”
Golden recently settled into an apartment in Nashville because she splits her time between Music City and her home state.

On a personal note, she said Stevie, named after Stevie Nicks, had been with her family for five years and the rescued black lab mix has been with her through her formative years and boarding school and back. Stevie lives with Scarlet, who her brother watches over, and she is a nervous lab and pointer mix. “They are angels.”
Golden wants to write a song about her dog and said “it had to be just right.”
Neither pet travels with her, but her parents, Jai and Jennifer “Golden” do and watched their daughter perform in the Blind Audition.
When asked if she planned to keep political opinions off the menu like Dolly Parton, Golden turned serious. “I am firm. I am an entertainer and the only assumptions about me I want made by my opinions is that I am a follower of Jesus Christ.”

See Julia Golden live on Thursday, Feb. 26, in Southern Pines at Red’s Corner at 7 p.m.
On April 17 at 7 p.m., Golden will perform at the Pinehurst BPAC during “The Golden Hour.”
