Sandhills News is hometown news in Moore, Lee, and Harnett Counties.

Grassroots media gives people a voice and supports the local economy through a trade-based system. It is a win for the average joe and their elected representatives because it fosters heart-centered journalism, and that is what drives people to do what they do. And when we understand one another, our communities work for the betterment of all.

So, how does this work?

This free online news source publishes news provided by citizen journalists, business owners, town leaders, teachers, healers, educated journalists, and people just like you. News is exchanged for free advertising. Free advertising remains active for two weeks.

Bear in mind, this media focuses on the hometown feel in Moore, Lee, and Harnett County, North Carolina. Submissions from visitors are allowed when they focus on a topic within one of these three counties. We love company here in the south!

Guidelines:

Submit a 200 word or less article, which may be accompanied by a 2-minute or less video Not all videos will be transmittable and some will be on the Facebook page with the story. Include an image of the topic or your headshot.

Submissions will be reviewed and accepted submissions will be edited. Acceptable submissions include social news, personal stories, golf, fishing, boating, and equestrian news, concerns about the region, such as growth, news about new happenings, such as new businesses and events, congratulatory news, and news about Moore, Lee, and Harnett Counties. Save the sale stories for your free advertising.

Submissions with accusations and unsavory language are not acceptable.

Include verification of your full legal name, name of organization, email, and phone number. The personal information will not be shared or sold. It is for verification of authentication only. You will be contacted when your story is accepted to verify the story.

For your free advertising in exchange for news, include the basics, date (if applicable), location, contact information, and what makes you unique. We will format and edit to fit our standards. All submissions, video, and images are property of Sandhills News and cannot be shared in any manner except from Sandhills News, unless you have written consent.

Are you a journalist or enthusiast? Earn a byline with a submission of a covered town or county meeting, or official event in exchange for advertising your credentials, your published book, or topic of your choice.

We do not want accident reports unless you are with the fire department, emergency services, or law enforcement. It is too dangerous for citizens to walk up on accident scenes. Do not do it.
