Tramway Diner: Review *****

Tramway Diner is at 2278 Jefferson Davis Highway in Sanford and serves excellent comfort food. Come hungry and leave satisfied.

Sandhills News and friends arrived at Tramway Diner at noon on Jan. 12. The parking lot was nearly full, but they had an open booth with a clean table and easy to read menus.

The group enjoyed catfish, broccoli and cheese soup, fried okra, carrots, pinto beans, corn muffins, cole slaw and grilled cheese – all for under $43!

Not a single complaint was uttered and the friends exclaimed, “It’s real butter!” about the complimentary dish on the tabletop.

The smiling waitress offered friendly chatter and promptly returned with drink refills throughout the visit.

The fried catfish was perfect, tender and juicy inside and crispy outside.

Sandhills News has dined here several times and has not been disappointed. Enjoy the fried chicken on Wednesdays and Sundays. The Jan. 12 friends highly recommended the meatloaf.

The diner opens each day at 6:30 a.m., and closing hours vary.

The meeting room in the back was filled with Rocky Fork Christian Church women who left with smiles.

Enjoy the homemade goodness at the Tramway Diner soon and tell them Sandhills News recommended the catfish with a choice of two sides.
