Pharoah’s Restaurant & Bar to host Wednesday paint nights
May 1, 2026

It was sprinkling cold rain on Feb. 27, when friends met Sandhills News at Sanford’s Saladang Thai Kitchen on Chatham Street.
Inside, crisp lime and basil mixed with sizzling garlic from the kitchen filling the small, but comfortable dining area. A waiter promptly appeared with clean and legible menus to take drink orders, and he answered the diners’ menu questions.
Friends chatted over fat spring rolls, pure, crunchy goodness served with a memorable green lime and ginger sauce and their peanut sauce. The rice paper covering the spring rolls held the traditional Thai silkiness that melts away under the crunch.
The chatter dulled after the main courses were served, soups with rice on the side, ideal for beating the cool rainy day feel. If the group had not been in public, they would have drank the soup from the bowls. It was that delicious!

The waiter provided large plastic containers to accommodate leftovers. The serving sizes easily provide meals for two, making the price more than fair.

Saladang Thai Kitchen is on the return list.
Enjoy!
