The second Muslim conquest? Will Russia join Christendom to prevent it?

A split image contrasting symbols of Christianity on the left with a cross on a church, and Islam on the right with a mosque and minaret.

Many wonder why President Trump continues to favor Vladimir Putin. There is no question that the War in Ukraine was started by Putin. It is clearly a war of expansion. It directly threatens the countries of Eastern Europe formerly subjugated by Russia’s Soviet Union. One would think that if Donald Trump took the side of Ukraine, the seemingly moral side of the conflict, a Ukrainian victory would be just as certain as would be the failure of Vladimir Putin to establish a new Soviet Empire.

Yet Trump refuses to provide Ukraine with many of the long range weapons that would make Moscow pay a heavier price for its war. He takes a middle-ground as between the two factions. Often he even seems to favor or at least excuse Putin’s aggression. In seemingly an a-moral way, Trump’s real goal is to end the war no matter which side “wins.” Why?

I suspect that Donald Trump has a global view of the security interest of the United States and the Western World. In that view, Ukraine is a sideshow. It is an unnecessary diversion from the real war for Western survival. That war is taking place in the Middle East. The sooner the Ukraine War can be ended, the sooner the true enemy of Western Civilization can become the focus of America’s concentration. That enemy is the present-day “Second Muslim Conquest.”

This Muslim Conquest is a sequel to the First. That involved a series of wars between about 622 and 750 A.D. It was led by and, after his death, inspired by the teachings of the man Muslims call “The Prophet Mohammed.” He taught the idea of “Muslim Supremacy,” the idea that Christians, Jews and other “non-believers” were of lesser human value. They ought to be dominated by the law of His Quran.

This ethos led to the creation of an Islamic caliphate from Asia and Africa to Mediterranean Europe, including Spain and parts of France.

As for Western Europe, it took from 622 until 1492 to finally expel Mohammed’s Muslim invaders. In celebration of that Islamic expulsion, the King and Queen of Spain decided to bankroll 3 ships for an Italian captain so that he could find a new route to India. Captain Columbus never did find India or its “Spice Islands.” However, he did “discover” some natives. He called them “Indians.” in honor of the destination he never reached.

The point is that from the 15th until the 21st Century, with the help of that Italian sailor, Western Civilization expanded and flourished. It eradicated smallpox and put a man on the moon. What was left of the original Muslim Conquest stagnated and contracted.

Then, as Donald Trump retook office in 2025, he found an Islamic “Empire” again on the rise. It was led by Iran and its radical clerics. That was the real reason for Operation Midnight Hammer and the current Iran Conflict.

Iran sought to bring Death to Israel, the “Little Satan.” But that was not why Trump entered the fight. Iran also wanted death for America, the “Big Satan.” In other words, Jews were the minor players (0.2% of the global population). The United States was (and is) a Christian nation. Equating the United States and Christendom with Satan, Iran sought to eliminate both.

As an Orthodox Christian Nation, Donald Trump wanted Christian Russia to realize that and be part of the fight to defend Christianity. As such, the War in Ukraine had to come to an end. Both Russia and Ukraine, but especially Russia, had to be free to focus on the greater Islamic threat.

A composite image featuring three prominent figures: Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the left, Donald Trump in the center, and Vladimir Putin on the right, set against a backdrop of destruction.

For too long Russia was obsessed with the conquest or control of those Eastern European countries West of Moscow. Yet, it did so for good reason. Russia’s last two unprovoked invasions came from France’s Napoleon and Germany’s Hitler. It saw NATO’s recent expansion as an opportunity for Europe to invade again.

Meanwhile, Russia ignored its real threat from the South and East. There, it had a large, oppressed and uncontented Muslim population. Chechen Muslim separatists were, for example, the prime cause of Russian domestic terrorism over the past few decades. In World War I, Ottoman (Turkish) Muslims went to war with Russia. The so-called Armenian Genocide was part of that war when Turkish Muslims murdered Armenian Orthodox Christians. Today, that is the fate of Russian Orthodox Christians, Putin included, if Muslims wrestle power from the West.

The instincts of Donald Trump are correct. The war in Ukraine must be settled as quickly as possible. The United States, what’s left of a Christian Europe and Russia need to join a united front against a second Islamic caliphate.

Europe and Russia must realize that they embark on a suicide mission when they placate the World of Islam. That Muslim World has already declared war on all that Western Christianity has created. It is important that all Western Christianity, Russia and Ukraine included, settle their conflicts forthwith. Then, the entirety of Christendom will be free to confront Islam and defeat those Muslims whose goal it is to fold Christianity as an oppressed minority into a Second Muslim Caliphate.
